Caputchin
Account management

Billing

Billing is account-level: one plan and one shared seat pool cover the whole account, across every troop. Open Billing from the account menu. Everything here is handled in the dashboard with your signed-in session; billing is the one area not exposed through the API, MCP, or Terraform.

Caputchin never stores your card number or any payment details. Your card goes straight to our payment provider (Stripe), which handles the charge; all Caputchin keeps is a non-sensitive reference plus the card brand and last four digits, shown only so you can recognize which card is on file. Caputchin cannot see or retrieve your full card number.

Plans

Caputchin has a free plan and three paid plans. What each includes is on the pricing page; in short:

PlanShape
SoloFree. Single user, no seat pool. The plan an account falls back to.
AlphaPaid, single user. Unlocks paid features without a multi-seat team.
TroopPaid, multi-seat. Adds shared troops and members.
ApexPaid, multi-seat. Everything, including audit logs and white-labeling.

Subscribe

On a free account, pick a paid plan, enter your card, and confirm. As above, your card details go straight to the payment provider, never to Caputchin. The subscription starts immediately.

Adjust plan and seats

On a paid account, Adjust plan opens an editor with a tier picker and, on multi-seat plans, a seat stepper (Alpha is always a single seat). Before anything is charged you see a preview: what you pay today, your new monthly rate, and when it takes effect. The rule is:

  • Upgrades and seat increases apply immediately, with a prorated charge for the rest of the current period.
  • Downgrades and seat decreases take effect at the end of the period, so you keep what you are paying for until then.

A scheduled downgrade shows as a pending change on the billing page, and you can cancel it before it lands.

Seats

Troop and Apex accounts have one shared seat pool for the whole account. A seat is taken by each troop member and each troop access token; the same person invited to a second troop does not use another seat. The seat usage card breaks down used against total. Your personal account access token is free and never counts against the pool.

Payment method

The payment card section shows your current card (brand, last four digits, expiry) and lets you update or remove it. Those few non-sensitive details are all Caputchin holds; the full number lives only with the payment provider. Caputchin warns you on the billing page when a card is close to expiring or has expired, and if a payment is past due, update the card there before the provider stops retrying.

Invoices

Your recent invoices are listed with their date, reason (a renewal, an upgrade, a seat change, and so on), amount, and status, each with a link to the provider-hosted PDF for your records.

Cancel or resume

Cancel subscription stops the plan at the end of the current period; you keep everything you paid for until then. After that the account drops to the free Solo plan, and any shared troops enter a 30-day read-only freeze before deletion, which is your window to export or resubscribe. While a cancellation is pending you can Resume to call it off and stay subscribed.

Apex-only surfaces, such as audit logs, depend on being on the Apex plan: once the account is on Solo they are no longer available, the same as for any non-Apex account.
